Is your organization implementing Robot-Agile or Human-Agile? Humans, while sometimes lacking in memory or slower in implementing logic compared to robots, are distinguished by their passion and creativity. Passion is driven by a deep sense of purpose and personal commitment, combined with a proactive mindset. But why is mind set change so hard?
1. Coca-Cola
What do you see in the picture below? A can of Coke in a striped image. What colors do you see in the image? Blue, black, and red, right? But what if I told you there is no red color in the image? Don't believe me? Zoom in or enlarge the picture and see for yourself.

When our eyes don't see a clear picture due to excessive color variations or visual noise, our brains fill in the gaps using familiar patterns from our memory. Since we are accustomed to seeing a Coke can as red, our brains interpret it that way. Our familiarity with the typical color of a Coke significantly influence this perception, contributing to the optical illusion.

2. The The Backwards Brain Bicycle
How long did it take you to learn how to ride a bicycle?
How long do you think it would take you to un-learn how to ride a bicycle?
Is it true that you can never forget how to ride a bicycle?
How do these biases in your brain actually work?
With the help of a group of welders, engineer Destin Sandlin created an experiment using a "backwards" bicycle to explore these very questions.
3. The Science Behind Why Changing Your Mindset is So Hard
Believe it or not our brains are hardwired to favor familiar patterns and resist change, thus making mindset shifts particularly challenging. From early childhood to adulthood, our neural pathways train themselves through repeated thoughts and behaviors, developing a comfort zone. This natural preference for the "familiar", combined with a reluctance to embrace uncertainty, means that changing our mindset requires considerable effort and persistence.
